Dear Family,
I couldn’t have asked for a better day to start this trip. Yesterday was a long day of traveling so arriving at the hotel was a relief to all of us. This morning we left the hotel and drove to the first tour. We arrived at a strawberry, and milk farm called Corso, very high up on a mountain, between two volcanoes. We got to travel on a tractor around the farm, and we even got to try strawberries right from the greenhouse. Next, my favorite part of the day, was when we arrived at the cows. We saw calves and two large cows face to face and wait for it… every single one of us tried milking them at least once. After this crazy little experience, we got to taste the cheese that they make from those cows. DELICIOUS. At the end of the tour we ate more delicious food and had their farm made strawberry juice. After this amazing time on the farm we traveled back down to the mountain to Chilamate and this is where I am writing from now. We all survived the first night of cold showers and are getting ready for bed now. Tomorrow we meet our Homestay family, and I am a little nervous for this, but I know it will be a lot of fun once I get there. I have seen countless differences between here and back home and I know these differences will grow tremendously once I meet my Homestay family. I know we have an amazing week planed ahead and I know we are all very excited to come home and tell you all about it. To mom and dad, thank you for sending me on this trip, I am having the time of my life and we definitely need to come back one day. I am learning so much about the culture and I have already realized how grateful I am for everything I have back home. See you soon. Love, Lacey See you all at the airport by 4am tomorrow morning.
